Programmable greeting card

Organiser: Paul Gardiner

Target Audience: Teachers of technology

Venue: Finham Park School

Date: Tuesday 5:00-7:00pm 30th March

The greeting card project, which was the subject of a Teachers meeting in July 2006, has been updated to make it more attractive to students.  It is based on PICAXE08M so students can programme it with ring tones of their choice and it utilises surface mount components to make it easier to construct.  This project/session is a good starting point for those new to surface mount assembly.  As with the previous version, the circuit is controlled by a small reed switch with a magnet on a pop-up mechanism to make a great graphics project.
